I chose to come to linguaenglish Toronto because one of my friends was here five years ago and she recommended I come.
How has your English level improved in the weeks or months you have been studying at our school?
First, when I came here I was rather shy and my self-confidence wasn’t very high, but after sometime, it started to change. I learnt how to use idioms, phrasal verbs or even how to have an academic conversation.
What kinds of activities at our school have helped you become more confident in your English communication skills?
We made a plethora of trips to all the sights in Toronto, and the fact that we traveled together in a group was fairly helpful. In fact we talked together and we were mostly surrounded by native speakers, for example on the subway. More information about the sights of the city you can find in the article about “Why you should visit Toronto in Canada”.
Why should students come to study English in Toronto?
I decided to come to Toronto, because the city is multicultural and you can get to know a significant number of different cultures. Moreover cities like Toronto or Melbourne are well-known for being student-friendly, so its easy to bond with other people. The city offers so many diversity as you can find lots of different people, cultures and neighborhoods, for example “Little Italy”, “Chinatown”, “Greektown”, “Little India” and many more. Toronto is located next to the sea and has great temperaturs during summer. Therefore, you can chill after class at the beach and enjoy the fun sight of the city at night.
What are some of your favorite spots in the city?
My favorite spot in Toronto is Dundas Square, because it is fairly lively and there are some performances or events most of the time and you never get bored when you are there. I also visited Kensington Market and I fell in love with it. It is such a dynamic neigbhorhood and you can choose of a huge variety of restaurants and cool places to go. Kensington is one of the finer food markets in North America. It’s a must visit if you are in Toronto. There is a myraid of food, shops, art work, and things to do. A couple of my favorite venues in the market are Seven Lives Tacos Y Mariscos as well as Fresco’s Fish & Chips. I urge you to come with others so that you can share the various foods.
